Glenands is the first pet shop in India, having started way back in 1938 on MG Road, Bangalore. In order to overcome the inordinate delays in importing pet food from London, the goal was to manufacture it locally and distribute it throughout India. Today the famous “Glenands Dog Biscuits� is available across India and is the flagship product of the company. The idea of an exclusive pet store was conceived by Mr. Jayakaran and was launched in Church Street (1982), followed up by this store in Indiranagar (1993) - started by Prithvi (Mr. Jayakaran’s son and third generation entrepreneur). He plans to shortly open a third outlet in the city which is sure to bring good cheer to all the city’s pet lovers.
The main USP of Glenands is the wide variety of choices one has when it comes to shopping for your pets – everything has variety. Chewies of different flavor (mint, chicken, meat, natural and many more), pet shampoos, different types of leashes and assortments, pet food from the best brands, litter boxes of various types, the list is endless. Even the not-so-common items like shades (glasses) for pets, diapers, dog toothpaste, shoes and dresses (to make that fashion statement) are available too. The store also has a unique tag machine to create personalized tags for your pet. This is a one of its kind machine, and available only in Glenands.

I have a pet lab called Pogey and right now she is at a stage where she can destroy anything by chewing it down. But finally, we found one toy for her at this store - a rubber chicken - that has survived intense battering - and is still not torn apart. I would highly recommend this toy that can be picked up from here. And would highly recommend this store for all the other reason - great service, and you always get what you want.
